Oranges, like any other citrus fruits, is a good source of vitamin C which is a powerful antioxidant. Thus, consumption of orange helps the body develops resistance against infectious disease and inflammatory free radicals from the blood.
 Also it play a vital role in person with excess body weight, since its low in calories and contains no saturated fats or cholesterol, and rich in pectin-a dietary fiber which is very effective in loss of body weight , specifically good in reducing cholesterol blood level.
Oranges is also an excellent source of vitamin A, Vitamin B complex such as thiamin, folates and other antioxidant like alpha and beta carotenes, crytoxanthin, zeaxanthin and lutein. They protects the body against lung and oral cancer.
Also they are good sources of minerals like potassium and calcium, calcium is essential for development of bones in the body.  Potassium is an important component of cell and body fluids that control heart rate and blood pressure .
