Health tips: The benefits of watermelon

Although water melons are found almost everywhere in the world, and in our market throughout the year, most people usually care not  to  know about its great health benefits.
 Watermelon is one of the natural source of very powerful antioxidants such as vitamins, carotene,electrolytes,citrulline,thiamin, lycopene etc.
Vitamins such as vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin B1 and B6 found in watermelon are necessary for energy production(usually fat free) and reduce the risk of dehydration(it’s a safe alternative for other energy drinks since watermelon contain high water quantity and can hydrates us , while most energy drinks dehydrate us and its caffeine sourced), also protects us from diseases such as cancer, asthma, heart disease, rheumatoid arthritis etc.
It’s a good source of carotene antioxidant usually called lycopene(watermelon contains higher concentrations of lycopene than any other fresh fruit) , lycopene  play a role in neutralizing free radicals in the body ,free radicals oxidize cholesterol, which result in blockage of blood vessels condition known as  atherosclerosis. This condition causes heart attack and subsequent dead, but with the help of watermelon the free radicals are been neutralised. Lycopene also reduce the risk of prostate and colon cancer.

  1. I love watermelon. 50cents can buy 2-3 servings of watermelons here in Thailand. While it is sweet, it's very good for weight loss.
